How To Effectively Lose Weight

There isn’t always an easy weight loss solution when trying to lose excess weight. Starving yourself or taking diet pills may lose a few pounds in the short-term but not only are these methods harmful to the body, but the weight will more likely return.

An effective weight loss plan should combine both a proper diet and exercise program to not only lose the weight but keep it off.  The diet doesn’t have to be tasteless or boring, and exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous.

There are many online diet plans available in digital format, which makes it convenient to work on losing weight in the comfort of your own home. That means you don’t have to go to the gym or have a diet regimen that doesn’t fit in your schedule. In choosing the right weight loss plan, it should be natural and safe. There shouldn’t be special foods you have to purchase through the weight loss program nor any gimmicks to get you to join.

Exercise Tips and Tricks

Filed under Exercise, Fitness, Weight Loss

Exercise does wonders to one’s overall physique and general well-being. It gets rid of unwanted fats by burning calories, tones and strengthens the muscles, increases immunity against certain diseases, and decreases bad cholesterol levels in the body. However, in order to achieve the best results, exercise must be done on a regular basis.

Practically anyone can begin the regimen at any time and still benefit from it. However, when to actually begin may require some determination, especially if you’ve never done anything like it before, or you have tried exercising before but got frustrated at some point while you’re going through the regimen. If you want to be healthy and trim, then, you need to set your mind that that is what you really want. Make exercise a part of your daily schedule, as in eating and breathing.

To keep you motivated, you must draw short-term and long-term goals for yourself. For example, establish how much weight you want to lose, and aim for that. Or aspire for a lifetime of good health. Whatever your goals may be, it is important that you lay them down clearly, so in the event that you lose your desire to exercise, you can look back to them and revive your interest.

Ideally, before you begin your exercise program, have a baseline data of your weight, and the measurements of your neck, chest, waist, hips, and thighs. After a couple of months of continuously doing the exercise program, weigh and measure yourself again. By doing this, you will know how well you are doing with the program. Continue Reading »

Natural Ways in Managing Cholesterol

The amount of cholesterol in your body determines your health. There’s the bad cholesterol and the good cholesterol, and how much of both is present in your body, whether it is good or bad, is often influenced by your lifestyle and eating habits. Too much of fats in the diet and lack of exercise or inactivity is always a bad combination, one that can lead to high levels of bad cholesterol. The treatment or management for this may therefore include careful management of diet and, possibly, a change in the lifestyle.

A low fat diet coupled with an intake of the different forms of Vitamin B, except niacin, may help decrease the amount of bad cholesterol or LDL (low density lipoproteins), in the body. Whole wheat, oatmeal, whole brown rice, soybean, milk, black strap molasses, fish, chicken, broccoli, and spinach, are all excellent sources of Vitamin B, so have these in your kitchen cupboard most of the time.

Dietary fiber can also reduce the levels of bad cholesterol by binding to the molecules of cholesterol, thereby preventing it to be absorbed in the blood stream. You can get fiber from products such as vegetables, fibrous fruits and whole grains.

Garlic, grape seed, royal jelly, chromium, Vitamin C the q10 coenzyme, and pantothine, too, can help decrease bad cholesterol levels. Continue Reading »

5 Ways To Stay Fit

Filed under Exercise, Fitness, Nutrition, Stress

The media bombards everyone with tons of ideas on ways to stay fit everyday that people are getting more and more confused—some eventually ditch the healthy reminders and get back to living an unhealthy lifestyle. All those things that health books and beauty magazines are saying can be summed up to 5 ways to stay fit; surely that won’t be too hard to remember.

  1. Developing healthy sleeping and eating habits will make your body get rejuvenated. Know what you are eating and what that can do to you. It does not take a genius to know that fatty foods can make a person fat, and sweets could get your sugar level notches higher until it reaches that level marked ‘diabetes’ or some other illness. This would boil down to sleeping right, regularly and on schedule, and eating in moderation.
  2. Proper personal hygiene can affect a person physically, mentally and emotionally—it will also keep the people around happy because people like to be near those who smell good. The person who has proper hygiene is more likely to be more confident.
  3. Exercise your way to a fitter you. This will always pop up in health books because proper exercise is one of the tried and tested methods to stay fit.
  4. De-stressing by giving yourself some time to relax or get a massage is a good way to take a breather and lift up your spirits.
  5. Surround yourself as much as possible with a healthy environment. Avoid polluted areas and also noisy places.

There are so many ways to keep fit and proper diet is just one dimension. Treat these 5 ways to stay fit as cute little post-its in your mind as you journey to a healthier life.
