5 Ways To Stay Fit

Filed under Exercise, Fitness, Nutrition, Stress

The media bombards everyone with tons of ideas on ways to stay fit everyday that people are getting more and more confused—some eventually ditch the healthy reminders and get back to living an unhealthy lifestyle. All those things that health books and beauty magazines are saying can be summed up to 5 ways to stay fit; surely that won’t be too hard to remember.

  1. Developing healthy sleeping and eating habits will make your body get rejuvenated. Know what you are eating and what that can do to you. It does not take a genius to know that fatty foods can make a person fat, and sweets could get your sugar level notches higher until it reaches that level marked ‘diabetes’ or some other illness. This would boil down to sleeping right, regularly and on schedule, and eating in moderation.
  2. Proper personal hygiene can affect a person physically, mentally and emotionally—it will also keep the people around happy because people like to be near those who smell good. The person who has proper hygiene is more likely to be more confident.
  3. Exercise your way to a fitter you. This will always pop up in health books because proper exercise is one of the tried and tested methods to stay fit.
  4. De-stressing by giving yourself some time to relax or get a massage is a good way to take a breather and lift up your spirits.
  5. Surround yourself as much as possible with a healthy environment. Avoid polluted areas and also noisy places.

There are so many ways to keep fit and proper diet is just one dimension. Treat these 5 ways to stay fit as cute little post-its in your mind as you journey to a healthier life.

Weight Loss and Exercise

It is common that most people want to know their weight to see if they have excess weight or not. It also helps to know your fitness level and what types of exercise can be of benefit.

The percentage of fatty tissue in our body indicates your weight. If a man has 14 – 15% of fatty tissue in his body mass, it indicates that he is overweight. In case of a woman, this level is 20 – 22%. The level of fatty tissue in our skin should be in small quantity to protect and insulate. An obese person is susceptible to diseases such as coronary artery disease, gallbladder problems, diabetes and high blood pressure.

Doctors suggest that people benefit through regular exercise, even if they are disabled or have asthma. Always best to consult a doctor before beginning any exercise program.

Some types of exercise include:

Isotonic exercise – A type of exercise done with the intent of increasing the length of the muscles by stretching and bending of legs, back and arms. This helps to improve the condition of the heart and blood circulation.

Resistance exercise – Involves a group of muscle movements which is done against the resistance. It is used to strengthen the body.

Ambulation – Is done to burn calories and is also good for the psyche.

Proteins help you to build a lean muscle mass. So try to include as much protein in your regular diet. Instead of weight loss, you can replace the fat with muscle mass. It is not healthy to lose your weight by skipping meals or starving. By doing so, it will store further fat in your body.

Causes Of Hair Loss And Finding A Permanent Solution

Hair loss can occur due to an illness, major surgery, a hormonal condition, an infection or specific medicines. A doctor can determine if the hair loss is a temporary condition. Some hair loss though is family-inherited. This hair loss, known as male/female-pattern baldness or permanent-pattern baldness, typically causes the hairline to recede and baldness to occur on top of the head. Standard hair loss treatments available in the market may not be the appropriate solution for this type of hair loss as can be costly, have side effects and may only work temporarily.  Hair transplants can offer a permanent alternative and with advancements in modern technology have made it an effective procedure.

Hair replacement surgery should be performed by a dermatologist specially trained in hair restoration procedures. The surgery involves transplanting donor hair from another part of the head to the affected area.  The hair specifically used for transplant purposes contains a genetic code to permanently grow hair throughout a lifetime, without ever falling out, which is found in most people.

Hair loss can affect the confidence a person has about their appearance and finding the right hair treatment method can help to gain it back.
