If you are among the millions of uninsured Americans who are looking for an alternative to the high cost of health insurance, there is an alternative that can help you afford health care for yourself and your family. There are discount membership programs that are not medical insurance, but when you join the program you can gain access to a network of dental providers, name brand eye care centres you know, family physicians and specialists, and prescription drug discounts.

Even if you already have health insurance coverage, the Family Value Health program can save you valuable money each month on your health care spending, and the discounts will more than easily cover the monthly membership fee.

Having a disability insurance plan in place provides a security net should you be unable to work due to a medical condition. One of the largest disability insurance plans, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), is deducted as part of social security taxes from your paycheck. The purpose of the program is if you or specific members of your family suffer a total disability and are unable to perform your work duties, then monthly benefits would be paid out for the loss of income.
In order to qualify, you would have to had worked a specified minimum time period and have paid social security taxes to be considered insured. The process for approval is that medical and other information would need to be assessed before any decision is made. And if the requirements are not sufficiently met then the claim would be rejected. This then gives the right to initiate a disability appeal to have the case reviewed.
It is advisable to understand the Social Security Administration Disability Appeal Process should it be necessary for an appeal if claim is rejected. There is no guarantee a claim will be approved since qualification requires that you are unable to perform the duties of your job, nor any other work, due to the medical condition and the disability is expected to last one year or longer.
In times of need, disability insurance can be a relief to avoid extra financial burden on the family budget but not all disability insurance plans are the same.
